General Interest

General
CHARITY WORK
She donates 1% of her earnings to Common Goal, a charity organisation that aims to use football to help improve social issues including gender equality and unemployment. She is also an ambassador for the charity Girls United, which aims to provide opportunities in sport and education for women around the world. "The two charities are basically about empowering women, gender equality, the kind of topics I'm passionate about. The idea at Girls United is that I'll go to coaching sessions and work with them. It's super important for girls to feel they can achieve anything. They have two really good hubs in Mexico and south London [England]. We've had a few conversations about Scotland, it would be great to get something going in Dunfermline. I would love to be a part of that." (sundaypost.com, 03 May 2021; theguardian.com, 27 May 2020)

OTHER STUDIES
She has also studied for a degree in sports writing and broadcasting. (theguardian.com, 27 May 2020)

MENTOR
She is part of the 77 Sports Management marketing agency, which was co-founded by Scottish tennis player Andy Murray. She says Murray has served as a mentor during her time with the agency. "Andy has been great. He's been a great mentor to me over the last 12 months [speaking in 2021]. Any kind of questions or advice I need from him, whether that's performance, psychological, whatever it might be, he's at the end of the phone and he's been really helpful. I'm sure I'll be asking him a little bit about his Olympic experiences going forward." (bordertelegraph.com, 29 May 2021)
