She was introduced to the sport by her family. "I just wanted to be like my brother. He played long before I did and my dad played every weekend so I'd spend all my weekends going to their games, kicking the ball about at half-time, trying to show off like I was the best player ever. It started from there, I knew straight away what I wanted to do." (thesefootballtimes.co, 06 May 2019)

BUSINESS OWNER
In December 2020 she and fellow English footballer Millie Bright started a business called 'DalyBrightness'. "We want to give back and make a difference. We've recently just released our very own DB clothing line and [have] previously done charity work which we want to continue. Our aim is solely to make a difference in the world and give people an insight into our lives as people not footballers." (Millie Bright LinkedIn profile, 01 Dec 2020; Instagram page, 19 May 2021)

ON LOAN
She joined English Women's Super League club West Ham United on loan from her parent club Houston Dash ahead of the 2020/21 season. The loan deal expired in January 2021. (bbc.co.uk, 04 Sep 2020; West Ham United Women Instagram profile, 11 Jan 2021)

TURNING POINT
She represented England at the 2008 U17 World Cup in New Zealand, but did not receive a further call-up to the national team for a number of years following the tournament and even considered quitting the sport. "That World Cup was a bit of a turning point, it wasn't very good for me. I didn't get called up after that for a while and I almost wanted to give up. It was a turning point, I wanted to quit. I went home, I was in tears, didn't know whether I was coming or going. It was all I ever focused on and it felt like it was being taken away from me. It upset me for a long time, I felt like I had no purpose anymore. I shook out of that mood after a few weeks. I had time to process and I just thought, 'I'm not giving up just because one person says I won't make it'. That was my turning point. I knew then this was going to be my career so that World Cup did end up being a turning point."
