She had not played for the Chile national team for eight years before returning in 2019 after witnessing improvements in how the game is treated in the country. "I decided to return because things are being done better and results can be seen from basic things such as kit to training conditions. We are now playing friendly matches against Germany and Netherlands, who are real powerhouses in women's football, so that is extremely positive and there is a federation president and a board who support women's football, which is allowing the game to grow."
