General Interest

General
Marta Menegatti and Viktoria Orsi Toth's partnership dates back to the 2010 U21 World Championships, where they won silver together, but they did not team up permanently until 2013.

Days before they were due to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Orsi Toth was sent home following a positive test for a prohibited substance. Menegatti ended up competing with Laura Giombini in Rio, and the pair were eliminated in the round of 16 by eventual bronze medallists April Ross and Kerri Walsh of the United States of America. Menegatti, while playing with Greta Cicolari, was also eliminated from the 2012 Olympic Games by Walsh and Misty May-Treanor, who went on to win gold in London.

Menegatti and Orsi Toth made their first World Tour podium during the 2014 season, winning silver in Sao Paulo. They claimed their maiden Tour title a year later in Sochi, and their next gold came at their first World Tour tournament together following Orsi Toth's suspension when they triumphed in Agadir in 2018.

The 2019 World Championships saw the Italians beaten in the quarterfinals by eventual winners Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana-Paredes of Canada.
