General Interest

General
Michal Bryl and Grzegorz Fijalek began playing together in early 2017, following Fijalek's split with long-term teammate Mariusz Prudel and the end of Bryl's partnership with Kacper Kujawiak. Tokyo will see Fijalek play at his third consecutive Olympic Games, having reached the quarterfinals with Prudel in London in 2012 and exiting the 2016 Games in Rio following a lucky loser play-off defeat to Canadians Ben Saxton and Chaim Schalk. Bryl will make his Olympic debut in Tokyo.

The 2018 World Tour saw Bryl and Fijalek make their first Tour podium with silver in Vienna, after defeat to Norway's Anders Mol and Christian Sorum in the final. An impressive showing at the 2018 World Tour Finals saw them claim another silver medal, again beaten to gold by Mol and Sorum. The Norwegian duo continued to be Fijalek and Bryl's World Tour nemesis in 2019, as Mol and Sorum overcame them in the final in Las Vegas and again in Itapema. The Polish pair secured a total of six medals in the 2018 and 2019 World Tour seasons before finally winning their first World Tour title in Doha, Qatar, in March 2020.
