General Interest

General
The Czech Republic won the chance to make their Olympic debut at the 2020 Games in Tokyo by way of the FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Victoria, BC, Canada, which was held in June and July 2021. The Czech team emerged from a six-team tournament, beating Canada in the semifinals before defeating Greece 97-72 in the final to secure their place in Japan.

The Czech Republic have competed at just one edition of the World Cup, exiting the competition at the quarterfinal stage in 2019 following defeat to Australia.

The Czech team have participated more regularly at the EuroBasket, making five appearances at the tournament between 1999 and 2017. Their best result during that time came at the 2015 EuroBasket, where they placed third in their group to progress to the knockout rounds. They then beat Croatia in the round of 16 before losing to Serbia in the quarterfinals.
