REPRESENTING ISRAEL
He became an Israeli citizen in September 2019 thanks to his mother's heritage. "It's pretty cool to be playing in the Olympics. For it to come about the way it did, especially for my mother who is a practising Jew, it just meant a lot to her. So, to do this, especially at the end of my career, it is like the icing on the cake." (sports.inquirer.net, 15 Jan 2020; jewishbaseballnews.com, 01 Sep 2019; hurricanesports.com, 01 Oct 2019)

UNIVERSITY DAYS
He was not recruited by the University of Miami and he played his freshman year at University of North Carolina Greensboro in 2004. The following year he transferred to the University of Miami. (hurricanesports.com, 03 Jun 2006)
