SISTER ACT
She says her older sister Jodie has been an important influence on her sporting career. "Jodie has definitely inspired me. I look at all of her medals and just think, 'Wow'. I have also seen all the highs and lows of the sport through her, so have a lot of respect for her." When she was younger she considered quitting the sport due to comparisons with her sister. "I really hated it because when I was at school people would always ask if I was faster than her and I had to say 'no' and I always felt really embarrassed by it. I wanted to quit because I wasn't reaching where she was reaching at my age. I feel like my friends and schoolteachers would always compare us so I automatically felt slow because I wasn't anywhere near her times and I was put down by people, not purposely, it was just how it made me feel. My progression has been gradual whereas she was at the top from the beginning. We took very different pathways." (athleticsweekly.com, 28 Sep 2015; britishathletics.org.uk, 01 Jun 2018)

EVENT CHANGE
She began as a short sprinter before switching to the 400m. "It all started when my coach wanted me to try a 400m indoors as part of my training. I was reluctant to do it but I surprised myself with the time and thought that maybe I could actually be good at it, so I started doing 400m training." (athleticsweekly.com, 28 Sep 2015)

OCCUPATION
She works as a model and has started her own sustainable clothing brand called HW Studio. (euphoriazine.com, 29 Oct 2020)
