Her older brother Alex Nelson has represented Great Britain in athletics, and won a gold medal in the 200m at the 2007 European Junior Championships in Hengelo, Netherlands. He was selected for the British team for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing but did not compete due to injury. Her cousin Curtis Nelson has played professional football in England and in 2019 signed for Cardiff City. Her other cousin Wes Nelson appeared on the British reality television show 'Love Island' in 2018.
