RETIREMENT THOUGHTS
In 2019 she considered retiring from athletics after suffering biceps femoris muscle injuries to one leg and then the other within the space of 10 months. But she decided to continue competing, while making changes to the way she approached her sports career. "After the injuries I was at rock bottom. I was left alone with my coach to deal with it all. It seemed like it would be the end of my career but we made it. I then thought about many things and changed a lot in my life. I took athletics more seriously. When I was a younger athlete, I had some silly thoughts, but I saw a light at the end of the tunnel after my injuries and it was a breakthrough for me. I got a handle on myself and I lost many kilos. I did it for myself, to run even faster. This is what sport is like. You have to get out of your comfort zone a bit and sacrifice something to make things even better, therefore I changed a lot in my diet and training." (onet.pl, 02 May 2021)
