General Interest

General
The Netherlands won gold when the women's team all-around event was first contested at the Olympic Games, in Amsterdam in 1928. It remains their only Olympic medal in the event in seven total appearances. They were ranked seventh at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, which was their first appearance at the Games for 40 years.

The Dutch team ranked eighth in the final at the 2019 World Championships in Stuttgart, a result that secured their ticket to Tokyo. They have not made the podium in 11 appearances at the world championships since 1999, and recorded a best ranking of fifth at the 2001 edition of the tournament in Ghent.

The Netherlands won bronze at the 2018 European Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. It was their second medal at the championships, following their silver in 2002.
