"As a tot [small child], I loved tumbling around. At four years old, while watching my older sister, a gymnastics coach noted that I might have a natural aptitude for the sport. It was a happy bonding. I loved doing it and, if I was being encouraged to do it, then happy days." (Facebook page, 12 Jul 2019)

ONLINE ABUSE
She revealed in May 2021 that the abusive messages she had been receiving on social media platforms served as added motivation in her attempts to secure a place at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "I just kept scrolling and scrolling through messages of hate. It's definitely the worst it's ever been. I just don't think people think before they start typing. Being a sportsperson you know you're not going to appeal to everyone, and I think you can either let it pull you back or use it as motivation. It definitely fuels my drive to prove them all wrong. That started with the last of the trials in Cardiff and, suddenly, after I did well there, a lot of the haters were hiding and changing their minds." (independent.co.uk, 25 May 2021)

SPORTING FAMILY
She admits that watching her older brother Liam Kinsella become a professional footballer with English team Walsall and represent the Republic of Ireland at U21 level served as an inspiration for her own sporting career. "Growing up and watching my brother achieve his goals and succeed, it's just made me want to achieve mine even more, so having him there and being a pro footballer has helped me. He's inspired me a lot but I never really thought about doing football. Obviously, I've been doing gym since I was a little girl, so it's been my whole life." (echo-news.co.uk, 07 Jun 2021)

FAVOURITE DISCIPLINE
Beam has been her preferred gymnastic discipline since she was a child. "When I speak to young children in training they always say that the beam is the scariest. I've actually loved it since I was little. It's my favourite piece and my strongest one too. I like the fact that anything can happen on the day of competition. You need to have elegance, power, and accuracy. No wonky moves or it's all over." (telegraph.co.uk, 29 Sep 2019)
