"Before basketball, I tried a lot of sports. I did combat sambo for three years, athletics for two years, and played football for several months. At the end of my seventh year at school there was a spell when I did not do any sports. Then, a basketball coach then came to our school and I liked it. I started to succeed in the sport and a year later I was already playing for the city's senior team. After six years in university basketball, I then went to play the sport at amateur level and, from there, I was recruited into 3x3 basketball. In one game I played against one of the coaches of the Russian 3x3 national team Dmitry Zimin and I got an invitation to try out for the national junior team afterwards." (matchtv.ru, 04 Aug 2020)
