General Interest

OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
Denmark will be making their debut at Beijing 2022.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
First competed at the world championships in 1992, finishing seventh after defeating Switzerland 4-3 in the playoff for seventh, their only win of the campaign. Returned to the tournament in 1999 and played in the lower divisions until 2019 when they earned promotion to the top flight after they finished second in Division IA, courtesy of a 4-0 win against Norway.

Finished 10th at the 2021 World Championship in Calgary after failing to win a game. The team scored goals against Czech Republic, Germany and Hungary, and lost 1-0 to Japan after Hikaru Yamashita's (JPN) winner in the second period. Due to Covid-19, and hosting the 2022 championship, Denmark avoided relegation.

QUALIFICATION
Finished first in group D at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Fussen. Opening with a 4-0 win against Italy, the Danes secured a 1-0 win against Austria thanks to Maria Holm Peters' (DEN) second-period goal. After coming back from a 2-0 deficit, Denmark went on to lose to Germany in a shootout. However, the overtime loss earned them the necessary point to win the group and qualify for their first Olympic Winter Games.

2021 World Ranking: 11th (2555 points)
