OLYMPIC GAMES HISTORY
The National Olympic Committee of Slovenia was founded in 1991 and fully recognised by the IOC in 1992. Slovenia made its Olympic debut at both Albertville and Barcelona in 1992 after the break-up of Yugoslavia. Since then, it has competed at all editions of the Olympic Games.

Slovenia has won 45 medals, including 10 gold, of which 17 medals and two gold were earned at Olympic Winter Games. At Sochi 2014, Slovenia claimed eight medals - one more than it had won in six previous appearances at the Olympic Winter Games.

With four medals in Alpine skiing, including two gold, Tina Maze is the most decorated Slovenian athlete, followed by rower Iztok Cop with one gold, one silver and two bronze. Maze is the only Slovenian Olympian with two gold medals.
