OLYMPIC GAMES HISTORY
Poland competed at the Olympic Games from 1924 through to 1980 and, after boycotting the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games, returned to the Olympic fold at Seoul 1988.
Poland is one of 12 nations to have competed at every edition of the Olympic Winter Games. Since its debut at Chamonix 1924, the NOC has won 22 medals (seven gold). Its best discipline has been ski jumping, in which it has won nine medals (four gold), led by Kamil Stoch and Adam Malysz, both with four medals, with Stoch winning three golds in 2014 and 2018. The top female Polish Winter Olympian is cross-country skier Justyna Kowalczyk, with five medals (two gold) from 2006, 2010, and 2014.
The NOC has won 320 Olympic medals, 79 of them gold. With four gold medals, the most successful Pole has been race walker Robert Korzeniowski, although track and field athlete Irena Szewinska-Kirszenstein has won more medals, with seven (including three golds).
