Montenegro competed with a team of three athletes (one man, two women) in Alpine skiing and cross-country skiing. Their best finish was 58th by Jelena Vujicic in women's giant slalom. This was only Montenegro's third appearance at the Olympic Winter Games, after Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014.

OLYMPIC GAMES HISTORY
Montenegrin athletes competed for Yugoslavia and later, Serbia and Montenegro. They had won medals mostly in team sports: basketball, football, handball, volleyball, and water polo. The country seceded from Serbia in late 2006 and was recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in July 2007. It has since competed at all Olympic and Olympic Winter Games since. The Montenegrin women's handball team won the nation's first medal, losing only the gold medal match to Norway (26-23) in the London 2012 tournament.

Montenegro has competed at the Olympic Winter Games in 2010, 2014, and 2018, with six Winter Olympians (three men, three women). Five of these have competed in Alpine skiing, while Marija Bulatovic was a cross-country skier in 2018, racing the 10km freestyle.

No Montenegrin Winter Olympian has competed more than once. Their best Winter Olympic finish has been 38th by Alpine skier Tarik Hadzic at Sochi 2014 in men's slalom.
