She was inspired to get involved in sports by her older brother, who has played professional football. "When I was younger, I looked up to my big brother a lot. I also wanted to be a professional footballer, but unfortunately I found that it might not be possible when I was constantly falling over my own legs in the schoolyard. At first [when given the chance to play wheelchair rugby] I said that I didn't think it was something for me and that I didn't think I could stick to it.
