A foundation he was involved in encouraged him to practise sports at Egmont High School in Aarhus, Denmark. He was encouraged to try wheelchair rugby by a coach. "The turning point for me was high school. I was overweight and felt bad, but the lady from the foundation said I should just practise sports.
