She took up wheelchair fencing after attending a sports camp for women with impairments. "I didn't know how good I'd be at it, but I figured, 'What the heck? I can try'. It just looked so cool to me, and I thought, 'I really wanna try that'. And, then, when I started getting really decent at it, then, I was like, 'I really love this'." (news.wgcu.org, 10 Apr 2019)
