COMPETING AGAINST SON-IN-LAW
He fought against his son-in-law and fellow Polish wheelchair fencer Adrian Castro in the bronze medal bout of the individual sabre B event at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Castro went on to win the bout 15-8. "I went to Rio to defend my title from London, but our plan was to fight in the final against each other. However, life had another scenario. He learnt a lot from me, copying some of my actions, so it was difficult to fight against each other." (tvp.pl, 08 Jan 2017)

CLUB FOUNDER
In 2015 he co-founded the IKS Szermierka Wolomin fencing club in Poland. He also serves as a fencing coach at the club. "We not only run a club, but we also visit schools promoting fencing and wheelchair fencing. It's also about showing children that they should not give up on their passions and dreams. We show that we, people with impairments, even if it's more difficult for us at the beginning, can do great things and achieve successes, so children can do everything, too with hard work. We also promote safety as most of us are impaired due to accidents." (tvp.pl, 08 Jan 2017; Stowarzyszenie Szermierka Wolomin Facebook page, 09 Nov 2020)
