Impairment Details
She has paraplegia as the result of a benign tumour in her spine [spinal haemangioma] which was diagnosed in her second month of pregnancy. Doctors wanted to terminate the pregnancy to operate on the tumour, but she opted to keep the baby and hold off on the surgery. "My daughter is beautiful and healthy. Today I'm happier than when I was walking. I value other things. I could have been quadriplegic, but I think God made up for it for not terminating the baby I had in me and I became paraplegic."
