COACHING JOURNEY
He has been interested in becoming a basketball coach from a young age. "I always wanted to become a coach. At the weekends there were some competitions at school and I would stay to watch the coaches of the upper categories to see how they coached older kids. When I had the chance I joined them as an assistant in order to get experience and then I could get my diploma. That's how I began training. [Some time later] my mother found a wheelchair basketball team in Jerez [Spain] that needed a coach. She talked to the president but he said I was only a child and that the players were older than me. My mother told him that I was up to the task, and I tried it. I could combine both able-bodied basketball and wheelchair basketball, but I eventually chose the latter because I love basketball and I loved this way of playing. I think it was the right choice. If I had the time I would combine both but I wouldn't leave wheelchair basketball." (saludmasdeporte.com, 01 Jan 2018)
