"I wanted to play football but no football club existed for disabled people in my town. The only sport for disabled people in Boufarik was wheelchair basketball. One day after school I met Toufik Boudiaf who invited me to join the FC Boufarik team. It was 1992. I loved it straight away. I won my first Algerian championship with the club in 1995 and stayed there until 2004. I won around 23 trophies there - national champion, cup champion and super cups." General
ALGERIA TO FRANCE
He moved from Algeria to France in 2003. "I came to France in 2003. It was Mohammed Goumri who let me stay with him. I started playing with the club Saint Peray in the national second tier where I stayed two seasons. Then I moved to Perpignan in 2005 for three years. The president of the Cannet club Alexandre Farrugia then recruited me in 2008 and I debuted in the top league. I stayed 10 marvellous years with this club, which is well known for its achievements. I changed club in 2018 not for sporting reasons but because of my family. Everyone at Le Cannet understood, with the birth of my son in 2010 the 10 hours I had to drive to be with my family was too much." (Basket Fauteuil News Facebook page, 08 Apr 2020)
