"I wanted to play football but no football club existed for disabled people in my town. The only sport for disabled people in Boufarik was wheelchair basketball. One day after school I met Toufik Boudiaf who invited me to join the FC Boufarik team. It was 1992. I loved it straight away. I won my first Algerian championship with the club in 1995 and stayed there until 2004. I won around 23 trophies there - national champion, cup champion and super cups."
