Her parents encouraged her to get involved in sport. "Once I finished my studies, my parents encouraged me into sport to help overcome my impairment. That's when I joined the Ibtissama club where I met other girls who played wheelchair basketball with the boys. That went on until the arrival of coach Djawad Zigh, who started a women's team. A little time later, the national federation started a women's championship. It was hard at first for me to master both the chair and the ball, but after a few players adopted me wholeheartedly into the team, my desire and motivation took care of the rest."
