Impairment Details
In August 2010, at age 24, he had an accident at work, which resulted in his right leg being amputated below the knee three years later. "At the time, I was working in a masonry company. A construction machine tipped forward. As a reflex, I stuck out my leg to stay in control and by rebalancing, the bucket fell on my leg." He was in hospital for several months and underwent multiple surgeries on his leg, before undergoing an amputation. "In September 2013, I asked to have an amputation because every day it had become a burden. It was a rebirth, I am much better with the amputation." (triathlon.org, 13 Jun 2021; sportmag.fr, 27 May 2019; club-audace.com, 02 Jul 2020)
