He was inspired to take up the sport after watching martial arts films. He enrolled in a taekwondo class after visiting the Adana Public Education Centre in Turkey. "I learned that courses were starting at the Public Education Center in 2009 and I applied. In the beginning, I was competing with able-bodied athletes. This lasted for a year or two. EYES ON TOKYO
He has served as captain of the Adana Amputee Football Club, but in 2020 he decided to put his Para football career on hold in order to focus on preparing for Para taekwondo at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. "I am a goalkeeper and captain of the team in Adana Amputee Football Club. I am taking a break from football for now because I will participate in the [2020] Olympic Games."
