:
She previously played netball and moved to Wales in 2019 to train as a javelin thrower, before being talent-spotted by Disability Sport Wales at a multi-sport test event in Anglesey, Wales. "I didn't know there was a Para taekwondo team. But this has fallen into place perfectly and I am riding the wave to see where it goes. It was a no brainer. If you get offered a bucket list option of potentially winning a Paralympic medal, you take it. It's still all a tad surreal. It's been an up and down process in the middle of a [COVID-19] pandemic. It's been a change of sport and a change of career but why not?" (britishtaekwondo.org.uk, 12 May 2021; gbtaekwondo.co.uk, 29 Apr 2021)

General
NETBALL SKILLS
She says her background as a netball player has made the transition to taekwondo easier. "There are a lot of transferable skills from netball. Reaction times, footwork, speed and agility are all important in netball and in Para taekwondo. Even when it comes to blocking, the speed I can block certain kicks comes from my netball. I won't lie though, I can't fully do the splits and that's something I have to work on. But it's been a great challenge going to something so new. There's a lot to learn. I love a good challenge and I hope I will succeed. This is my life now and I absolutely love that I can train as a full-time athlete. People dream of this." (paralympics.org.uk, 26 May 2021)

FURTHER EDUCATION
She has also earned a master's degree in health psychology, natural sciences and psychology at Liverpool John Moores University in England. (LinkedIn profile, 01 Mar 2021)
