She first competed in able-bodied athletics and football. She then began training in Para athletics at the Mexican Paralympic Centre [CEPAMEX], but after two weeks at the training centre a Para taekwondo coach encouraged her to try the sport. "I was a little bit afraid at the beginning because I had not practised a contact sport. The most aggressive sport was for me football. I like to accept challenges and to seize opportunities so that was why I tried it. I loved it when I get into my first lesson, and also liked how I was welcomed at the academy.
