Her father encouraged her to take up the sport. She was also inspired to pursue the sport after she played a match against Hungarian Para table tennis player Zoltan Tauber, who had a limb deficiency. "I didn't really want to play a match against him, I was thinking about how I could do it without winning. I didn't want it to be bad for him. Then he beat me and everyone else.
