Her mother Jane Karla Gogel competed in table tennis at the 2008 and 2012 Paralympic Games, and in archery at the 2016 Paralympic Games. Her father has also played Para table tennis internationally, and won silver at the 2013 Pan American Championships in San Jose, Costa Rica. "The doctors do not have an exact diagnosis, but it seems to be a congenital genetic condition that came from my father. I have issues in my hip and joint inflammation, which limits my ability to squat, run and jump. It might get more severe in the future.
