At 03.30, six days a week, he and his mother Laura drive for 70 minutes to the Greenville County Aquatic Complex, where he takes part in a morning swim session before heading straight to school. After school he returns to the pool for a second swim session. He swims for 3-4 hours per day. Over the years he has gradually built up his swim training frequency from three, to four, then five, and now six days a week. DRAWING AND JOURNALLING
When he is not in the pool, he illustrates and writes short stories based on his swimming achievements, and sends them to the Penguin Project and the Miracle League, both of which are arts and performance charities for impaired children. Ahead of the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, he already had a title for his latest work: 'Parker Egbert and the Road to Tokyo', and a title for its first chapter: 'The Adventure Begins'.
