He said his relationship with Carlotta Gilli, also an Italian Para swimmer, is beneficial as they both understand one another's emotions as an elite athlete. EDUCATION AND FUTURE PLANS
He graduated from his bachelor's degree in digital and communication cultures in December 2018, with a thesis entitled 'Sport and disability, factors of inclusion and exclusion in the sports practice'. "Reconciling sport with study was not easy. Studying is as important as sport, and it gave me a lot. One of my greatest passions is travelling, and fortunately sport allows me to be able to visit many places." He hopes to remain in sport once his swimming career is over. "For the future I would like to be able to experience the emotion of a Paralympics as a coach or assistant coach and remain in this environment." OTHER ACTIVITIES
He and partner Carlotta Gilli work as ambassadors for Telethon, a non-profit organisation recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, which helps people suffering from rare diseases. In 2018, he featured in a film documentary called 'Phylum', which won an award at the Benevento Film and Television Festival in Italy.
