General
SCOLIOSIS
In 2012 he was treated for scoliosis, and narrowly avoided surgery thanks to an effective rehabilitation programme. "In addition to swimming, I needed to go to the gym because I had severe lumbar scoliosis which, with growth, could get worse. I went looking for a good professional and, recommended by my coach, I met Dr. Ugo Venturini. In collaboration with a spinal specialist from Milan, we started a personalised programme that included re-education sessions combined with specific exercises in conjunction with swimming workouts. Swimming could have potentially deteriorated the scoliosis for which my back needed continuous monitoring. But since swimming is my passion, I did not struggle to follow this path and the final result was to improve the morphology of my spine, my posture and avoid surgery." (ugoventurini.com, 26 Mar 2019)

TATTOO
He has a shark tattoo on one of his arms. "As a child sharks were one of the animals I feared the most, until one day I decided to get a shark tattoo to defeat my own fear and start being the best 'predator' in the pool, just as the shark in the sea." (federicobicelli.com, 01 Jan 2020)
