Impairment Details
At age four she was diagnosed with congenital scoliosis, a condition that causes a sideways curvature of the spine. She had three operations on her vertebrae between 2015 and 2017. "I practically have a titanium spine. Those operations have also affected my nerves, so I have difficulty moving my left arm and leg. At home I use crutches for short distances, and to go out I have to use a wheelchair. The Para sport environment helps a lot. There are people who have more serious problems than mine, and they don't give up." (ecodibergamo.it, 14 Aug 2018; repubblica.it, 10 Jul 2018; giornaleditreviglio.it, 30 Jun 2018)
