ACCIDENT
She credits her mother with helping her come to terms with the car accident that resulted in her impairment and the loss of her father and sister at age five. "I didn't realise what was happening, however I slowly understood the gravity of the situation. Instead of giving up I decided I had to fight, I had to react. Just as other kids were starting to walk I was learning how to do it all over again. I had to learn to write differently, to dress differently. I was a little girl who could not understand if in the future she would be able to walk again. My mother didn't know what to say to me because it was a very difficult situation for her to manage.
