General
EYES ON TOKYO
She enjoys Japanese culture and says it has served as extra motivation that the 2020 Paralympic Games will be hosted in the country. "Since it came out that the 2020 Paralympic Games would be in Tokyo, I already really wanted to go. I have been there a number of times, and I always come back with those good vibes, reinforced energy and with a great inner peace. Going there to enjoy it again will be amazing, let alone for the Paralympic Games. Besides, I consider myself a geek of the world of anime and manga. Every time I go to Japan, I buy everything, from figures to memorabilia. I have a room full of manga and anime stuff." She also featured in a documentary for Japanese television ahead of the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. "I felt really good recording it. They took us to the city and were very respectful and friendly, they made us feel like we were family. I love that respect they have for everything. I would like to live in Japan someday." (radiomarcatenerife.com, 10 Feb 2020; deporpress.com, 23 Oct 2019)

SWITCHING CLUBS
In 2018 her coach Jose Luis Guadalupe founded a new swimming club called 'Midayu' in Tenerife, Spain. He named the club after Alonso, as well as her national teammates Dacil Cabrera and Judit Rolo, by combining the first two letters of each of their first names. "I am very excited because we are starting up with the best swimmers and teammates who have been together for a long time. We only need to find people to help us and we will give it a try." (deporpress.com, 18 Oct 2018; diariodeavisos.elespanol.com, 26 Sep 2018)

OTHER ROLES
In June 2020 she was appointed a member of the athletes' council for the Spanish Paralympic Committee. (paralimpicos.es, 29 Jun 2020)
