He tried a number of sports growing up to help with his rehabilitation. "I have always liked sports very much, and growing up it helped me a lot in my rehabilitation. I did handball, soccer, volleyball, running and skateboarding until I tried swimming. I liked it [swimming] because it is a very different sport from the rest. Impairment Details
He was born with an aggressive form of fibromatosis, a condition in which tissue in the body develops tumours. The problem affected his left arm from birth, and at age five one of his fingers had to be amputated. In 2012 his lower arm was removed, and he has since lost the rest of his arm as well as his shoulder blade. "I was actually born with my arm, but I had a tumour and due to all the operations I had, treatments and more, I am now without my shoulder. It was not as 100% functional as my other arm, so it was not so difficult for me to learn everything with one hand."
