Biographical Information

Highlights

He captained the Iranian men's national sitting volleyball team for 13 years, and was part of the side that won gold at three consecutive editions of the Paralympic Games between 1988 and 1996. He is head coach of Iranian sitting volleyball side Mes Shahr Babak.

He has served as head coach of Iranian sitting volleyball team Samen Al Hojaj. He also served as chef de mission for the Iranian team at the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

He believes sitting volleyball is the favourite sport in the Islamic Republic of Iran for people with an impairment. "[It] holds the same status as soccer for the able-bodied. It's the most popular sport for the disabled in Iran. Extensive participation of our war veterans in this sport and dedicated efforts of the disabled athletes paved the way for rapid growth of sitting volleyball throughout the country.
