Her coach at Worcester Rowing Club later recommended her to British Rowing and encouraged her to try Para rowing. Impairment Details
She was involved in a car accident at age 15, which resulted in a leg impairment. "My leg was pretty badly injured. They [doctors] were talking about having to amputate but I told them they had to try harder to save it and as I went in to theatre the surgeons said they'd see what they could do. When I woke up I had no idea if they had been able to save my leg or not. Obviously I was pretty relieved to find it was still there." (worcesternews.co.uk, 12 Sep 2017)
