General
ABLE-BODIED COXSWAIN
She won gold medals in able-bodied rowing as a coxswain at the world U23 championships in 2017 and 2018. She joined the Canadian national Para rowing team ahead of the 2018 World Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. "That was my first time racing with them. I'm kind of considered an athlete, but I'm also considered a guide. I don't have all the experience in the world with a Paralympic boat, but I'm definitely giving everything to make sure that I learn as much as I can and make sure I know what I'm doing. I would say there's not too much difference [between able-bodied and Para rowing]. I'm still doing the steering, the technical stuff, everything in practice. I do have to know in any case what my crew is capable of." (stcatharinesstandard.ca, 10 Jun 2021; bayshorebroadcasting.ca, 23 Aug 2018)
