CANOEING AND ROWING
Having also competed in Para canoeing sprint, he believes the tactics are different in a Para rowing race. "The strategies are very different, as in rowing you can see your rivals so, if you are ahead, you can keep up the pace and wait for their reaction, whereas in canoeing you are never sure about whether you are adopting the right tactic. That is why it is a great satisfaction for me to be competitive in both sports." He also thinks that his previous injuries diminish his performance in canoeing. "In the canoe you try to lengthen the stroke to catch the water as far forward as possible and that is where I am at a disadvantage due to the pain. Whereas, in rowing, when going in a fixed seat, I do not use the trunk and I make more use of the dorsal and biceps." OCCUPATION
He worked as a mechanic before his accident. (marca.com, 19 May 2016)
