Her father worked as a fisherman and introduced her to boats at a young age. She took up Para rowing as part of her rehabilitation following her accident. "I wanted to do a physical activity for rehabilitation and thought about swimming. Then I was introduced to rowing and soon started competing in 2006 when I went to the world championship and rowed with Rafael da Luz in the double. Curiously, having the accident has subsequently provided me with the joys that I have received through rowing. So, in principle, what was a disaster has turned out to be an opportunity." General
PARTNERSHIPS
She has competed alongside six different rowing partners during her a career, which she says has helped develop her knowledge of the sport and ability to adapt to different challenges. "It was a very enriching experience from a personal point of view, but from the point of view of the high performance, the constant change in the boat was caused sometimes by the competition and performance among the athletes, but other times the change occurred due to administrative decision. I believe that I have become a good rowing instructor because with each change of partner, basic technical training began again. Luckily, since 2014 I have had greater stability, competing with Michel Pessanha." (worldrowing.com, 30 Jul 2020)

ROWING DIVERSITY
In 2020 she praised the increasing number of female athletes who have started to practise rowing. "In the last few years I have observed a greater number of women athletes, mainly from countries in humanitarian crisis in which the fight for the respect for women's rights and human rights is a daily achievement. Having seen these athletes competing in rowing is also a hope and very beautiful to see this diversity in the rowing world." (worldrowing.com, 30 Jul 2020)

FORMER OCCUPATION
She worked as a physical education teacher prior to her accident. (horadesantacatarina.clicrbs.com.br, 25 Aug 2016)
