He was inspired to take up Para rowing after hearing the story of a rower with paraplegia. "I was frustrated about not being able to do cardio activity such as cycling. I needed to do something, to make my heart work and rowing, an endurance sport, was an excellent chance for me. It was a bit of a coincidence that I discovered that you could row at the Boulogne 92 club. I quickly got into the game by training more for the competitions. I remember a phrase from a wheelchair rower who said, 'What I like about rowing is that once you're in the boat, you're all at the same height'.
