He was an able-bodied weightlifter at high school and university, but was forced to quit the sport due to the injuries he sustained in a traffic accident. He wanted to remain involved in the sport, so his friends suggested Para powerlifting. "At that time, I also heard that it would be possible for me to compete at the Asian Para Games.
