She first took up chess and athletics when she began to lose her vision. She chose to pursue Para judo because she liked the philosophy of the sport. "I saw judo as appealing and intelligent. I was attracted to the philosophy of the sport. At the same time, I had to learn how to defend myself. It was very enjoyable for me to practise judo with loss of sight. My senses got stronger." RIO EXPERIENCE
She says the support she received ahead of the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro played a large part in her performance and the bronze medal she won in the -48kg class at the event. "There was a very strong support behind me, my family, my coaches, the government. I was not supposed to spare these efforts. I knew that I was going to win a medal.
