He has taken a leading role in the development of goalball in Ukraine. "In the 2000s I worked as deputy head of the Invasport centre [for Para athletes in Ukraine]. In 2003 I took children to a competition at Artek [international children's centre], and it was there that I saw goalball. Before that, I had never seen anything like it, either on television or in the press. By 2004 I had already put together a team. I went to schools, talked about goalball, and invited children with a vision impairment [to try the sport]." (sport.pl.ua, 30 Jan 2018)
