AMBASSADOR
He serves as an ambassador for the Johan Cruyff Foundation in the Netherlands, and is particularly focused on supporting children with an impairment. He covered a 500km charity handcycle ride in 2020 for the Foundation. "As an ambassador for the movement of the Johan Cruyff Foundation, I think it is important to keep children active, especially now. It's really nice to help make their cycling dreams come true. For children with a physical disability, the thresholds are quite high to start handcycling. You soon find yourself in a situation where you have to buy such a bike yourself, without really knowing what it has to meet. The KNWU [Royal Dutch Cycling Union] recently submitted an application to the Johan Cruyff Foundation to be able to properly service the existing bicycles we have, but also to purchase some new bicycles.
