:
He began Para cycling in 2013. (al.com, 27 Nov 2013)
:
He got into cycling after becoming tired of the amount of time he was spending in his car. He then found an article about a Para cyclist with a similar impairment to him and was inspired to take up the sport competitively. "I remember it so well. Some guy on a tri-bike just went by in the bike lane, someone that I'll never see again. But seeing him made me realise that cycling would be a way better use of my time. I just started looking into it further and entering local races. I signed up for my first nationals in 2013 and did well enough to get on the radar for US Paralympics." (teamusa.org, 14 Sep 2020; teamusa.org, 15 Mar 2016)

Origin of Impairment
Congenital (teamusa.org, 15 Mar 2016)

Impairment Details
He sustained a brachial plexus injury at birth after being delivered by his head. As a result, the nerves from his neck through to his arm were damaged. (teamusa.org, 15 Mar 2016)

General
CAREER
He worked as a musician at Disneyland from 2007 to 2012. He also featured as a background musician in the 2013 film 'Gangster Squad'. "My mother wouldn't let me play sports because of my arm, so I did music instead. That's kind of where I learned how to be a high-level person in general. I went to [California State University, Fullerton] and got a degree in trombone performance there. I was pretty successful for my age in that area and when I graduated I had an opportunity to start working at Disneyland as a musician." (teamusa.org, 14 Sep 2020, 28 Jul 2015; whoop.com, 05 Apr 2017)

OTHER ACTIVITIES
