MISSING LONDON
In 2012 he considered retiring from Para cycling after being excluded from the national squad just two days before the 2012 Paralympic Games in London, resulting in him missing the Games. A routine medical check prior to the Games came back with abnormal blood results, and he was temporarily suspended as a precaution by the Italian Cycling Federation [FCI]. When his blood levels returned to normal he was allowed to return to racing but he had become disillusioned by seeing articles in the media associating his exclusion from the Games with a potential doping offence.
